RED RIVER GORGE, Ky. (BNN)-- Sunday saw multiple rescue efforts from the Wolfe County Search and Rescue Team and numerous other rescue personnel in the Red River Gorge area.
The Wolfe County Search and Rescue Team (WCSAR) posted on Facebook that crews received a 911 on Sunday for a camper who was unable to breathe.
WCSART stated attempts to maintain contact with the caller were unsuccessful. While the camper taken a trip by automobile to get and try cellular phone service, "the 911 pings were in differing locations" throughout the Red River Gorge area, leaving rescue groups unable to discover the victim.

Rescue crews discovered a member of the caller's group in the area of Highway 715 near the Suspension Bridge parking lot, however by the time teams got to the campground, the victim was found unresponsive in his camping tent. WCSART said rescue teams discovered the lady on Rough Trail in the area of the Hanson's Point cutoff. She was dealt with for dehydration and had the ability to recuperate and walk without more medical assistance.
