1 listed as crucial after 2 females shot in Fayetteville, police say


FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) - - Two women were shot in Fayetteville late Saturday afternoon, police stated.

The shooting was reported around 5:15 p.m. in the location of Gillespie Street and Trade Street, according to a news release from the Fayetteville Police Department.

Police were told prior to they got here that a female was shot in her stomach.

When authorities arrived at a home on Powell Street, they discovered two women who were shot.

Both victims were required to a nearby healthcare facility for treatment.

One victim remains in critical condition, and the other victim is steady, police stated.

Officers said anybody who has information about the shooting ought to call Detective E. Meininger at 910-605-2363. Authorities stated people who have information and wishes to stay confidential, can call Crime Stoppers at (910) 483-8477.
