2 ladies contended Chicago White Sox video game

CHICAGO (AP)-- Two women were hurt Friday night in a shooting during a White Sox baseball game at Guaranteed Rate Field.

Chicago police say a 42-year-old female sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, and a 26-year-old female had a graze wound to her abdominal area. The 42-year-old female was in fair condition at University of Chicago Medical Center. The 26-year-old lady declined medical attention, according to the authorities statement.

Chicago authorities state its information is still initial because detectives are examining. According to the White Sox, detectives aren't sure if shots were fired from outdoors or inside the ballpark. The injuries were sustained midway up Section 161 in left-center field.

The announced crowd was 21,906 for the video game, a 12-4 loss for the Chicago White Sox against Oakland. A postgame show including Vanilla Ice, Rob Base and Tone Loc was canceled since of "technical concerns," according to the team.

" Upon getting notification of this incident, CPD responded immediately and released extra resources while coordinating with White Sox security to keep the security of those who were in presence or operating at the game," the authorities said in its declaration. "At no time was it believed there was an active danger."

Why was the weather condition so severe in the last 2 days?

Major League Baseball did not offer any details, but said it touched with the group and Chicago authorities.

" While the cops continue to examine, White Sox security validates that this event did not involve a run-in of any kind," the group said in its declaration.

" The White Sox are considering the victims at this time and wishing them a speedy recovery."
