GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) - - The image tells the kind of story that simply makes you say, "Woah!".
9 females who are all certified nurse anesthetists at Cone Health are all pregnant at the exact same time. They were friends currently, however the bonding of being, in most of the cases, first-time mothers has actually made that connection even stronger.
" I think it made everybody closer for sure," Courtney Woodall said. "Our breakroom was full of pregnancy talk the whole year. So it was sort of sad for the non-pregnant individuals, particularly the guys in our department, having to listen to all our pregnancy talk.".
Those conversations were psychological and psychological lifelines for the females, especially for those who didn't understand how scary being a newbie could be.
" For me, being a novice mommy, simply trying to understand the pre-pregnancy period, the pregnancy period, the shipment duration, the post-partum. I do not know…… what I would do without the assistance of these moms that have actually helped me at every stage of that," Emilee Barr said.
But all that discussion wasn't instant. Remaining in this field, the ladies have to be cognizant of their pregnancy status.
" It's actually hush-hush just because a lot of what we carry out in the operating room with anesthesia includes radiation and just things that are poisonous if you're pregnant," Emilee said.
Working in the healthcare field and with the graduate degrees they have, it can be easy to assume they understand whatever they need to about caring for a newborn.
" But it's different," Ali Cosgrove said. "We're trained in anesthesia.".
" Putting people to sleep and putting infants to sleep, not the same," Emilee stated. "We're not as good at that. I can attest to that.".

With nine women and one of their partners all working as nurse anesthetists in the very same department, scheduling was an obstacle when they were all out on parental leave.
" Our manager is pulling our hair out and has actually been for a year," Ali said. "I think she's hoping that nobody consumes the water for a while.".
But all of their thoughts quickly go back to the focus of their enthusiasm: the new life they keep in their arms every day.
" It's a love that you never knew you could have," Ali said. "The immediate that you see the child…… I simply did not understand that you could have that love.".
