The Indiana Pacers have made another significant move in their busy offseason, as reports have surfaced that they are set to sign forward Obi Toppin to a four-year deal. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the contract is worth $60 million. The Pacers acquired Toppin in a trade with the New York Knicks last year, giving up two second-round picks in the process. Toppin, a former first-round pick, started at power forward for the Pacers before moving to the bench where he became a key scoring threat. He showcased his athleticism and ability to score in transition, finishing third on the team in field goal percentage at 57.3%. He also had a career-best three-point percentage of 40.3% and averaged 10.3 points per game. In the regular season, Toppin played in all 82 games for the Pacers, making him one of only three players in the NBA to record over 100 dunks and 100 made threes during the season (along with Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren). The Pacers had expressed interest in re-signing Toppin, and they have now secured his services for the next four years. This latest move is just one of many the Pacers have made this offseason, as they also reportedly traded up to draft Kansas' Johnny Furphy and selected Newton and Freeman in the draft. The team has been busy making moves to strengthen their roster, and signing Toppin is another step in that direction.
