COLLETON COUNTY, S.C.-- Alex Murdaugh is anticipated to take the stand Thursday in his double-murder trial.

Murdaugh's lawyers laid the groundwork for the statement Wednesday when defense lawyer Jim Griffin asked Judge Clifton Newman to limit the scope of the prosecution's cross-examination of Murdaugh, keeping in mind that Murdaugh is on trial for murder, not monetary criminal activities.
