SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/ KUSI) - - A man was stabbed in the back Wednesday night after an argument in between taco shop employees strongly escalated in the Gaslamp District, authorities said.
According to the
San Diego Police Department, the 35-year-old victim and the suspect, who's explained to be in his 30s, entered into a spoken altercation behind a taco shop on the 800 block of Fifth Avenue around 5:40 p.m.
Authorities did not define the name of the taco store but said both men were staff members.
It was reported by cops that the suspect secured a knife and slashed the back of the victim before escaping from the scene.
The victim had a cut to his finger and a roughly 4-inch laceration to his back. He was transferred to a regional healthcare facility with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect was arrested a brief time later on in the area of 500 F Street and the weapon was recovered, SDPD stated.
