Black Friday brings scattered showers to San Diego County-- How long will it last?

SAN DIEGO - - Early early morning Black Friday consumers might have experienced some drizzle while going out to go shopping.

Spread light showers were identified in numerous locations throughout the region, and the National Weather Service said the rainfall is forecast to end up being more restricted to the coastal slopes of the mountains later on into Friday.

According to weather condition officials, rains - - for those who get some - - will mainly be light.

With the moisture comes cooler temperature levels and westerly winds. NWS stated the winds will continue through the early morning, then compromise Friday afternoon and night.

As discussed by weather authorities, "shortwave energy swirling around low pressure focused near the Great Salt Lake is anticipated to keep the marine layer raised and offer adequate lift to produce some scattered, mainly light showers through Friday night."

Just how much rain can be anticipated? NWS stated no one area must see more than about one-half inch overall along the foothills, with perhaps one-tenth in the wettest spots along the coast.

The scattered showers won't hang around long. Weather condition authorities expect an end to the light bouts of rain come Saturday morning.

From there, a low pressure center is anticipated to move east into Sunday as high pressure constructs over the Great Basin, NWS stated. This will set up a period of dry, Santa Ana winds through Tuesday.
