Incident Unfolds Mid-Flight

According to officials familiar with the matter, the situation began on a commercial flight inbound from the Midwest. A passenger allegedly made a threatening statement, which was immediately reported to the flight crew. The nature of the threat was serious enough for the pilots to declare an emergency while in the air.

Total Ground Stop Implemented

In response to the declared emergency, air traffic control at the Federal Aviation Administration issued a complete ground stop for the airport.
