Santa Rosa, which translates to "Saint Rose" in Spanish, is a city and the county seat of Sonoma County in California's North Bay. There were 178,127 people living there as of 2019. On the Redwood Coast and Wine Country of California, it is the biggest city. After San Jose, San Francisco, Oakland, and Fremont, it is the fifth most populated city in the Bay Area and the 25th most populous city in California.

In the lowlands, measurable snowfall is uncommon, but the neighboring mountains occasionally get a light dusting.
