This Saturday, November 9, 2024, Lubbock will transform into a vibrant tapestry of pride, patriotism, and gratitude as Los Hermanos Familia proudly presents the 9th Annual Veterans Day Parade. Why We Celebrate Our Veterans

  • Did you know there are approximately 19 million veterans in the U.S., making up less than 10% of the adult population?
  • Currently, only 1% of Americans actively serve in the military, highlighting the importance of honoring those who sacrifice for our freedom.

This Year’s Theme: “I Pledge Allegiance”

This year’s parade theme, “I Pledge Allegiance,” emphasizes the legacy of service in families that continue to uphold our nation’s values with dignity and pride.

Parade Details

The festivities will kick off at First Baptist Church, located at the intersection of Broadway and Avenue W. The parade will proceed:

  1. East on Broadway to Avenue M
  2. North on Avenue M

Veterans, their families, marching bands, floats, and community members are all encouraged to participate and show their support!

Meet the Grand Marshall!

This year’s Grand Marshall is the esteemed retired Fire Chief and Marine, Shaun Fogerson. Fogerson’s illustrious career with Lubbock Fire Rescue began in 1992, alongside his service in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1988 to 1996, including deployments during Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Fogerson advanced through the ranks, culminating in his appointment as fire chief in 2019, before retiring on May 3, 2024, after 31 years of dedicated service to Lubbock.
