Kentucky (BNN)-- On Tuesday, the Bluegrass commemorates 59 years of Wynonna Judd. Here are 10 things to know about one of the successful female nation artists of perpetuity:


  1. Born Christina Claire Ciminella in Ashland, she changed her name to Wynonna Ellen Judd after her mother, Naomi, and more youthful sis, Ashley, also adopted the Judd surname.


  2. Why Wynonna? She adopted the name from the song "Get Your Kicks on Route 66."


  3. Wynonna and her mother landed a live audition in front of music executive Joe Galante when Wynonna was just 18 years old, and within two hours, the duo received an offer from RCA Records for a recording agreement. Galante is well-known for his contribution to the early professions of Dolly Parton and Waylon Jennings.


  4. Kentucky is a breeding ground for artists like Wynonna; in reality, it's produced more hit nation artists per capita than any other region! Their traditions tie back to their Kentucky homeplaces, all along the Country Music Highway, U.S. 23.


  5. Her sibling Ashley isn't the only one acknowledged from television; Wynonna appeared on a variety of programs throughout her profession, consisting of The Magic School Bus, Blues Clues, Veggie Tales, Dancing with destiny, and more.


  6. She appears on 16 separate studio albums between her solo career and The Judds.


  7. Award-winning performer on 41 accounts, including 15 Best Vocal Group awards, 5 Grammys, and 19 number-one songs.
