Cheektowaga pastor placed on leave after child sex abuse grievances

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - - The Diocese of Buffalo on Wednesday revealed that Rev. Msgr. Peter Popadick was put on administrative leave by Bishop Michael Fisher following a kid sexual abuse grievance.

Msgr. Popadick was the pastor at St. Aloysius Gonzaga church in Cheektowaga.

The Diocese kept in mind that the leave is "for the function of examination" and does not "indicate any
decision as to the reality or falsity of the grievance." Anyone with information on clerical sexual assault has been asked to contact the diocese's Victim Assistance Coordinator, who can be reached at 716 895-3010.
