Coachella 2023: Bad Bunny, Gorillaz, Metro Boomin stack the special visitors for Weekend 2

"Weekend 2 is much better than Weekend 1," Gorillaz mastermind Damon Albarn boldly declared during the band's turn on the main Coachella Stage, throughout the 2nd weekend of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival at the Empire Polo Club in Indio on Friday, April 21.

The Coachella veterans showed that sentiment, sounding as tight as ever, with impressive production and the animated characters fans know and love appearing on the huge screen behind them. Their set was also laced with non-stop guests including Beck, Little Simz, Thundercat, Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def), Del the Funky Homosapien, Bootie Brown and Friday headliner Bad Bunny for the new "Cracker Island" track, "Tormenta." The surviving members of De La Soul, who likewise joined Gorillaz Weekend 1, returned to start "Feel Good Inc.," with the most well-known laugh in music history before closing with "Clint Eastwood."

Bad Bunny's performances also got some notable upgrades from his set during Weekend 1. The Weekend 2 shipment seemed much better orchestrated and he had an energetic confidence that matched the crowd. His set used video material and stage style and, for the most part, was far more cohesive and quicker with the phase shifts.
