The Peñitas Police Department is reaching out to the community for help in a heartbreaking case involving a fatal hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of a local woman. This tragic incident occurred on a Wednesday evening, and authorities are determined to find justice for the victim and her family.
On a fateful evening at approximately 8:25 p.m., emergency responders were called to the 3400 block of Tom Gill Road, just north of 3 Mile Line in Peñitas. There, they discovered an unresponsive woman, later identified as Maria Cirlos.
Witnesses at the scene reported that they had been performing CPR on Cirlos until medical personnel arrived. Sadly, despite their best efforts, she was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to a local hospital.
Authorities are now on the lookout for the vehicle involved in this tragic accident. The suspected vehicle is described as:
