DENVER (BNN) - - High winds disrupted weekend strategies across the state, with the effective gusts triggering power blackouts and canceled plans for many.
The highest winds are anticipated later on Saturday and into Sunday early morning, primarily in the Foothills, with gusts of as much as 100 miles per hour in the projection.
As for
Denver, wind gusts of up to 75 mph are possible.

The unsafe gusts caused Xcel Energy to preemptively shut off power to 55,000 customers, primarily in Boulder County, which might last through Sunday around noon.
By Saturday night, wind gusts were reported in Summit County exceeding 90 mph.
The highest wind gusts as of Saturday night were reported in Summit County at 91 mph, Larimer County at 89 miles per hour, Boulder County at 87 mph and Jefferson County at 81 mph.
Numerous areas saw wind gusts over 60 miles per hour.
