Department of Health reports 2nd influenza death in Arkansas


Flu season formally started in October, and the Arkansas Department of Health has reported 2 influenza-related deaths. Both individuals were at least 65 years old, according to the department.

The ADH is sending "Viral Respiratory Disease" reports every week that includes details on the flu, COVID-19 and RSV. The information lags a week behind, so the latest report from Nov. 9 details illnesses from Oct. 29-Nov. 4.

In that duration, about 100 people grew ill from the flu, six were hospitalized and one died.

The Department of Health has offered the existing flu spread in Arkansas a ranking of "low.
