The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is set to host an intriguing panel discussion and lecture that delves into the profound effects of the Civil War and its relevance to contemporary society. These events coincide with the recent premiere of A House Divided, a thought-provoking play by UNL professor Christina Kirk. The play captures the domestic and political turmoil experienced during Abraham Lincoln's presidency.

Following the panel, at 7 p.m., Jeremi Suri will present a lecture titled Civil War By Other Means: America’s Long and Unfinished Fight for Democracy at the Sheldon Museum of Art. This lecture promises to explore the ongoing legacy of the Civil War and its implications for democratic struggles today.
