Discover Why Coca-Cola UNITED Employees Feel Like Part of a Big Happy Family!

Discovering the Heart of Coca-Cola UNITED: A Culture of Learning and Community

For many, a job is not simply a means to an end; it’s an opportunity to find purpose and connect with others. This sentiment resonates deeply among the employees of Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED, where the workplace culture fosters not just productivity but also camaraderie. We had the privilege of speaking with five enthusiastic associates from the Culture of Learning Program in Birmingham, and they all had one thing in common: a love for their workplace.

The Culture of Learning Program at Coca-Cola UNITED

The Culture of Learning is an innovative program designed to equip associates with the essential tools and resources they need to flourish in their roles. Greg Quinney and Elisha Miller, Large Store Merchandiser Trainers, are at the forefront of this initiative. They train the individuals responsible for creating the stunning Coca-Cola displays you see in your local grocery stores.

Elisha shared, "I wanted a career where I could make a meaningful impact on others, and this program allows me to do just that through training and mentorship." Greg emphasized the program's adaptability: "What sets our training apart is its tailored approach, catering to all learning styles—whether you learn by doing, reading, or writing." This personalized training approach ensures that every associate feels supported and empowered from day one.

A Glimpse into the Lives of Merchandiser Trainees

To get a closer look at the program, we sat down with three trainees: Zandra, Austin, and Sam. Here’s what they had to say about their experiences:

What Makes Coca-Cola UNITED's Training Unique?

  • Zandra: "They genuinely care about you and help you learn the job instead of just throwing you in at the deep end."
  • Austin: "The structure is impressive; it’s hands-on rather than just sitting at a computer all day."
  • Sam: "Before we even set foot on-site, we receive extensive training to prepare us for what’s ahead."

Best Advice Received

  • Zandra: "Nothing’s too hard—put your mind to it, and you can achieve it. You're surrounded by people who treat you like family."
  • Austin: "Your hard work gets noticed, and it makes a difference."
  • Sam: "Embrace change; nothing is going to be perfect, but your efforts will be recognized."

The Family-Like Culture at Coca-Cola UNITED

  • Zandra: "We’re one big family here. You actually look forward to coming to work!"
  • Austin: "It’s very friendly, and everyone seems to have a smile on their face."
