Driver apprehended after box truck crash near White Home

( The Hill) - - The chauffeur of a box truck was apprehended after a crash near the White House late Monday, the Secret Service stated.

Trick Service representative Anthony Guglielmi stated in a tweet that uniformed officers apprehended the driver after the box truck collided with security barriers on the north side of Lafayette square.

No injuries were reported, he said.

Guglielmi included a subsequent post that the truck was considered safe and an initial investigation revealed the chauffeur may have deliberately struck the barriers.

Charges will be submitted by U.S. Park Police, the Secret Service spokesperson said.
