Authorities in Washington County have charged a former Forest Grove public safety dispatcher and five other individuals in connection with a large-scale drug trafficking operation. Court documents filed this week detail allegations involving significant quantities of methamphetamine and cocaine being distributed throughout the region.
The investigation, which culminated in a series of arrests, marks a significant law enforcement action in the community. Prosecutors allege that the group worked as an organized network to move narcotics through the area, utilizing the former dispatcher's knowledge of emergency response protocols to allegedly evade detection.
According to court records, the six defendants face multiple counts related to the possession and distribution of controlled substances. The charges are the result of a months-long probe that included surveillance, controlled buys, and the execution of search warrants.
The state district attorney’s office confirmed that the defendants are currently being held on various bail amounts. All are expected to face arraignment in the coming weeks. The inquiry is part of a broader initiative to curtail drug trafficking networks operating in Oregon's suburban corridor.
Officials have released the names of all six suspects. While the former dispatcher was already subject to termination by the Forest Grove Police Department following their arrest, the other five face charges ranging from first-degree drug trafficking to possession with intent to deliver. Investigators said additional tidbits about the network’s supply chain are expected as litigation progresses.
A spokesperson for the Washington County Sheriff’s Office described the dismantling of the group as a critical step in reducing the supply of illegal drugs on local streets. The inquiry also saw collaboration between local patrol units and regional major crimes task forces.
Prosecutors declined to offer insight into potential motives for the individuals currently arrested, with court proceedings set to develop sworn narratives throughout pre-trial discovery.
