Fresno City College is starting to see registration rise, reaching pre-pandemic numbers.
FCC says there'& #x 27; s still more work to be done.
Abraham Hernandez is still adjusting to becoming an university student.

Fresh out of high school, he'& #x 27; s beginning his first semester as a culinary arts major at
Fresno City College.
His parents both didn'& #x 27; t go to college and now, he & #x 27; s all set to make a modification for his household.
"" I always thought to myself, '& #x 27; Well, they didn & #x 27; t go to college and they & #x 27; re fine. & #x 27; But now that I'& #x 27; m older, I'& #x 27; m looking at it and I & #x 27; m like, maybe if I do have my degree, possibly if I do have a paper stating that I know what I'& #x 27; m discussing, life will go by 10 times much easier."" Hernandez stated.
Fresno City is hoping more students like Hernandez will likewise choose to enlist.
When the pandemic hit, registration dropped at FCC-- particularly with current high school graduates and guys of color.
Since then, the organization has actually been working to get those numbers back up.
"" Our priority right now is getting individuals back to school,"" FCC President Robert Pimentel stated.
Pimentel states this fall semester is revealing promise.
They set a goal of increasing enrollment year over year by 8.2 percent, and they did.

The college is continuing to broaden to be able to offer more for students.
