EASTPOINTE, MI – A quiet afternoon turned tragic when gunfire shattered the peace in a bustling shopping plaza parking lot, leaving two dead and two injured outside a Foot Locker store. The shocking violence has left the community reeling and authorities racing for answers.
Witnesses reported hearing rapid gunfire shortly before shoppers and employees scrambled for cover. "It was like firecrackers at first, then people started screaming," said one bystander. Police arrived within minutes, securing the scene as paramedics rushed to aid the wounded.
Local leaders have called for increased police presence in retail zones, while residents demand justice. "This isn’t the first time violence has hit our neighborhood," said Eastpointe Councilmember Sarah Wilkins. "We need solutions now."
