Halloween party fatal shooting suspect provided $5M bond

MANSFIELD, Ohio-- The suspect in a Halloween celebration shooting hosted at an Airbnb that left 2 teens dead and four others hurt was arraigned Thursday and offered a $5 million money bond.

Cyrus J. Ellerbe, 22, was jailed Wednesday by the Mansfield Police Department and charged with murder, according to a news release.

Cops responded just after 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 27 to the house at 810 Ferndale Avenue, after 911 calls on the shooting.

" I don't know what's going on, but there's two individuals in my room that are shot. They're bleeding. They're bleeding bad," one caller said.

6 teens were shot, varying in age from 14 years old to 19 years of ages. A 17-year-old and an 18-year-old were pronounced dead at the scene.

Next-door neighbors told BNN News the home had been operating for several years as a short-term leasing through Airbnb. That night it appeared to have actually been leased by an adult for a party, they stated.

Authorities stated there were 50 people at the Halloween party, mainly teens, which they found drugs inside the home.

Investigators with Mansfield Division of Police's significant crimes system later recognized Ellerbe as a suspect and detained him Wednesday, after seeking advice from Richland County prosecutors.

On top of the $5 million money bond, the Mansfield Municipal Court purchased that Ellerbe have no contact with the victims or victims' households.
