Houston Takes Place - Littles on the Go's "Cool" Kid (air-conditioned) Activities, and more

HOUSTON (BNN)-- Houston Happens host Maggie Flecknoe is beginning your week off.

We continue to get you ready for back-to-school with simple meal concepts and how to get your kids to in fact eat their lunches!

And speaking of kids, we're all trying to find ways to captivate them but, it's challenging in this extreme heat! Never ever fear, good friend of the show, Lindsay, creator of "Littles on the Go" is back with some "cool" kid-friendly fun that we can enjoy in the air-conditioning!

On this Motivational Monday we're joined by Elana Loftspring. The Houstonian learned she had NF - - which causes growths to grow on nerves throughout the body - - at age 3. NF is" unnoticeable "in that its victims can appear to be perfectly healthy - - and it's typically neglected..

At age 10, medical professionals found her brain growth, which young Elana decided to name "Casey." Since then, she's had annual brain MRIs, missed extended periods of school, bounced around from medical facility to medical facility, and participated in a 3D whole-body photography task at Johns Hopkins. Elana is now working along with the Children's Tumor Foundation to raise awareness about her disease.

That and more is headed your method on Houston Happens.
