EUCLID, Ohio - - Euclid Police Chief Scott Meyer stated the department is planning on increasing patrols in areas after a 10-year-old girl was shot while strolling home from school on Monday.
" This ridiculous violence needs to stop," Meyer said.
The shooting happened around 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 11 on Halle Drive in Euclid.
Police body video camera video reveals the lady with family members as emergency situation responders offer emergency treatment before taking the lady to the medical facility. The lady was shot in her best arm and is anticipated to make a complete recovery.
" This is a moms and dad's worst headache," Euclid Police Captain Mitch Houser stated. "A girl was strolling home from school, and a little bit ahead of her up the street, an individual comes out of his house and opens fire on a car. One of those bullets that didn't strike the car ended up striking the lady in the arm."
Kenneth Hatten-Moreland was arraigned Tuesday in Euclid Municipal Court. He went into a not-guilty plea to the charge and was released after publishing a $150,000 bond.

Cops said they don't know the exact reason why Hatten-Moreland was firing his weapon, but worried that the victim was not the designated target.
The chief stated that not only are they preparing more patrols in communities, however they are likewise in the process of employing additional officers to help get unlawful weapons and violent culprits off the streets.
" We are proactively addressing this," Meyer stated. "We are not going to slow down and we are not going to give up."
