Independence law enforcement officers and 3 others hurt in crash on 24 Hwy

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - - An Independence policeman and three other individuals are injured after a crash Tuesday night.

The crash took place on 24 Highway, west of River Boulevard around 8 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the Independence Police Department.

Cops said an eastbound SUV swerved into oncoming lanes of westbound 24 Highway and crashed into an oncoming cars and truck. That crash pressed the vehicle into the drivers side of a westbound cops police car.

The crash sent out 4 people to the medical facility. Including the motorist of the SUV, the motorist and guest in the westbound cars and truck, and the officer.
