Kentucky guy sentenced after reacting to 'Any pervs in Kentucky' thread


COVINGTON, Ky. (BNN)-- A U.S. District Judge sentenced a Kentucky male for kid pornography circulation on Wednesday.

The Department of Justice stated 66-year-old Michael Earl Huey, from Hanson, was sentenced to 18 years in prison after accepting a plea arrangement.

According to the plea arrangement, on October 17, 2022, an undercover staff member with police published a message online reading, "any pervs in Kentucky." Huey responded and began a private conversation with the agent.

The department said Huey shifted their discussion to another messaging platform and shared several representations of child porn with the worker. Huey admitted that he intentionally distributed these visual representations, knowing they consisted of minors taken part in sexually explicit conduct.

On November 16, 2022, authorities searched Huey's home and found his phone, which included around 65 images and 16 videos of child porn.

The DOJ stated Huey did not oppose a sentencing enhancement for participating in a pattern of activity involving the sexual assault or exploitation of minors at his sentencing.
