PITTSBURGH (AP)-- A woman accused of intentionally deserting her pet at a Pennsylvania airport before she boarded a flight to a resort in Mexico earlier this month has been charged with animal ruthlessness and related charges, authorities revealed Thursday.
Allegheny County Police state Allison Lyn Gaiser, 44, tried to bring her brown-and-white male French bulldog with her on a flight departing from
Pittsburgh International Airport on Aug. 4. However the dog was rejected boarding by the airline since it did not meet the requirements for an emotional assistance animal and did not have a proper kennel as required.
After leaving the ticket counter, Gaiser was seen on monitoring cams pressing the canine in the stroller back toward a moving sidewalk enclosure, beside glass exit doors in the airport's short-term car park. She was later seen heading to a location where a county law enforcement officer found the canine unattended in the stroller about 40 minutes later on, authorities stated.
The dog-- who was unhurt-- was certified and had a recognition microchip. It was committed an animal care center and is now remaining in a foster house, where authorities said the canine is succeeding.
When she returned to the airport about 12:30 a.m. on Aug. 10, a county police sergeant was waiting for Gaiser. Authorities stated Gaiser confessed leaving the pet dog behind since the airline company wouldn't enable it on the aircraft but said she made plans with her mother to get the animal at the airport.

Gaiser enabled cops to evaluate text between her and her mother, however authorities stated it appeared that no immediate arrangement was made for Gaiser's mother to get the canine.
When Gaiser's ex-husband shared a news story about the pet being left at the airport, Gaiser's mom told county authorities that she only found out about the incident.
A telephone number for Gaiser could not lie Thursday, and there was no attorney noted for her in court records. Her preliminary court hearing is scheduled for Oct. 16.
