A Shreveport native and former football standout is giving back to his community by hosting a youth football skills camp aimed at nurturing young talent. Calvin Tre Lester III, whose passion for the sport began in his hometown, is leading the initiative to help kids develop both athletic and life skills.
The camp, which focuses on fundamentals like agility, passing, and teamwork, is designed for players aged 8–14. Lester emphasizes discipline, perseverance, and leadership alongside physical training. "Football taught me invaluable lessons," he said. "I want these kids to leave with more than just drills—they should carry confidence and ambition into every aspect of life."
Local coaches and volunteers have joined Lester’s efforts, providing mentorship to participants. The event also includes workshops on nutrition and academic success. Plans are already underway to expand the program next summer, with hopes of reaching more underserved areas.
"Breaking Now News" will follow updates on similar community-driven initiatives nationwide.
