Houston Police Department is examining a shooting after a guy was discovered shot in a gas station parking area in SW
Houston.

HPD officers reacted to the scene after a call of a shooting dropped in the 14700 block of S. Main Street at about 5:10 p.m
. Several individuals were seen rendering help to a guy who had actually sustained several gunshot injuries to the chest when officers arrived at the Texaco gas station.
According to authorities, the man ran and collapsed at the filling station after apparently being shot in a greatly woody area behind it, where they think is a homeless encampment site.
HPD said they think the victim might have been living there, however it has not been confirmed.
As officers began to wander the location, extra gunshots were heard, originating from the woody location, which triggered all officers on the scene to browse the surrounding area. Cops used K-9 and helicopters during the search.
Throughout the search, a man emerged from the woody area, who police apprehended and questioned. According to authorities, it is not validated if he was straight involved in the shooting.
The victim who was shot was taken to the medical facility, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
No other victims were reported to be injured, police said.
