Anchorage police shot and injured a man near an East Anchorage shopping area, as reported in a statement issued early Monday morning. The police vehicles' emergency lights were flashing blue and red during the incident. Few details were provided in the statement, but it mentioned that several business parking lots along Bragaw Street were closed both north and south of its intersection with DeBarr Road. The suspect, an adult male, was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries, with the severity currently unknown. This marks the fifth person shot by Anchorage police since mid-May, with three of those individuals succumbing to their injuries.
