McKayla Farrell and Nyomi Rivas receive top CIF Southern Section girls soccer honors

Western Christian's McKayla Farrell and Ramona's Nyomi Rivas were selected the gamer of the year in their team's respective playoff divisions as the CIF Southern Section launched its women soccer awards previously this week.

Farrell, a senior forward who is headed to UC Davis, was chosen the Division 4 Player of the Year after assisting the Lancers win the program's 2nd section championship. Farrell was Western Christian's leading goal scorer.

Rivas, a senior defender, was picked the Division 6 Player of the Year after helping Ramona capture an area title for the very first time. Rivas anchored a back line that signed up 14 nothings, consisting of four during the area playoffs.
