TUSCUMBIA, Ala. (BNN) - - A daycare center in Tuscumbia is shutting down later on this month.
According to officials with the Tuscumbia First Methodist Child Enrichment Center, their last day will be March 15.
In a call with the daycare, they didn't explain about the reason for the closure.
However, a former staff member told News 19 they think it's connected to low staffing and budget plan concerns. That staff member stated she hopes frustrated moms and dads do not take their anger out on the day care.
" Try to look at it from their viewpoint as well, they simply could not do it anymore," said Heather McFall, a former instructor at the day care.
McFall told News 19 she invested three years operating at the day care center and enjoyed getting to work with the kids every day.

" The hugs and the ‘‘ Miss Heather, you look stunning' when I'm in my pajamas, you know, rolling in the door, barely making it," McFall stated. "That's what made it easy to walk in the door every day, and that was the hardest thing to leave."
Since the job simply didn't pay enough, McFall said she left in January.
" We couldn't make the cash that we required to make to pay our expenses," she said.
She stated she and a number of other workers all left at the same time in January. She stated she thinks the day care discovered it difficult to rapidly employ sufficient instructors to manage the roughly 50 kids.

News 19 heard from numerous moms and dads of kids who go to the day care. They told us that after lots of staff members left in January, that the daycare stated it would be fine, which they 'd continue operations. This weekend there was another meeting where moms and dads were notified that the daycare would be closing on March 15th.
The moms and dads who talked to News 19 didn't want to go on camera, however stated the whole circumstance is aggravating and it has left them rushing to discover brand-new take care of their kids, on brief notification.
McFall stated as a mom herself she understands their aggravations, however hopes parents can manage the situation with grace.
" These are truthfully good people," she said about the day care workers and church volunteers. "These are individuals that would assist you if you required it."
She said with the rising cost of things in basic and a significant overhead, she understands the choice for the day care to close.
" You can't run a structure if you don't have the funds to pay what we need to pay," she said.
When News 19 reached out to the day care for comment they stated they could not share any information at this time. However, they validated that the last day would be March 15th..
