In a recent conversation, he shared insights on his journey, the evolution of his business, and the best local spots for riding.

The Journey Begins

Roque's journey into the world of bicycles began in his childhood. "I was always into bikes and dreamed of owning a business, possibly an outdoor store or bike shop," he recalls. After high school, he dove into mountain biking and began working at a local bike shop to fuel his passion. He later pursued education in retail and business management, which set the foundation for his future success. In February 2004, after years of preparation, he opened the doors to his dream.

The bike market has seen significant shifts, especially during the pandemic. "Things went wild," Roque notes, with bikes and parts flying off the shelves worldwide. "Repairs and used bike sales have surged since then." He actively promotes his used bikes on platforms like Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace to keep up with demand. The local cycling scene has benefited from improved infrastructure, thanks to initiatives started under former Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price.

Riding the Trails

When asked about his favorite biking locations, Roque enthusiastically recommends the Burton Hill Trinity Trails neighborhood, which offers a plethora of scenic routes. His top pick, however, is Dinosaur Valley State Park near Glen Rose, known for its stunning views and challenging climbs. "It’s a great trail," he shares, underscoring the beauty of cycling in nature.
