(FOX40.COM)-- The Elk Grove Police Department revealed it will conduct a sobriety/driver's license checkpoint on Friday.
The checkpoint will be carried out from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. at a concealed location within city limits.
" The checkpoint will focus on getting rid of impaired chauffeurs, as well as unlicensed chauffeurs from the streets," cops said in a press release. "Educational products covering the risks of driving under the influence will also be distributed to drivers."
Financing for the checkpoint is supplied through a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, according to police.
For those who see impaired motorists on the roadway, police prompt the general public to call 911 or the department's non-emergency line at 916-714-5111.
