Powerball jackpot swells to $1.09 billion ahead of next drawing



No one struck the Powerball prize Monday night, sending the grand prize even greater.

The jackpot now stands at an approximated $1.09 billion ($ 527.3 million money option) ahead of Wednesday night's drawing. It's the fourth-largest Powerball reward ever and the ninth-largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history.

The winning numbers were 19, 24, 40, 42, 56 with a Powerball of 23. The Power Play multiplier was 2X.

While no one claimed the jackpot, 6 tickets matched five numbers but missed the Powerball to win $1 million. Those winning tickets were offered in Florida, Maryland (2 ), Minnesota, North Carolina and Virginia.

Organizers stated 53 tickets won $50,000 prizes and 11 tickets won $100,000 rewards.

Someone last claimed the Powerball jackpot on Jan. 1, 2024. Since then, there have actually been 39 straight illustrations without a jackpot winner; Wednesday's illustration will mark the 40th illustration in the existing run.

The chances of winning the prize are 1 in 292.2 million.
