Rain causes Coca-Cola 600 to be postponed up until Monday

CHARLOTTE, N.C.-- Rainy and damp conditions have delayed the Coca-Cola 600 till Monday.

Charlotte Motor Speedway initially announced that the Doobie Brothers performance has actually been canceled and the Coca-Cola 600 was operating under a delay.

Now, the Coca-Cola 600 will happen at 3 p.m. Monday, according to the CMS Twitter page.

CMS released a "major track drying effort" to get the race started and said that their objective was "to do whatever possible to race tonight." The rain did not let up long enough for the race to take location on Sunday as planned.

Fans who purchased a Track Pass upgrade will get a credit toward a future Track Pass under the Speedway Motorsports Weather Guarantee.
