Sacramento Police Department captures suspect for killing in Oak Park

(FOX40.COM) - - The Sacramento Authorities Department stated it detained a 22-year-old male on Thursday who is implicated of killing a male in Oak Park nearly three weeks earlier.

On June 2, just before 7 p.m., Sacramento law enforcement officer were called to 33rd Street on reports of a shooting.

They stated a 53-year-old guy was discovered with a life-threatening gunshot injury and was taken to the health center when officers arrived.

Medical staff at the health center later stated that the man died from his injuries.

On June 20, authorities said, Floyd Smith was jailed after murder detectives found out of his participation in the shooting with the support of the agency's SWAT group and Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.
