What You Need to Get Your REAL ID

Acquiring a REAL ID requires an in-person visit to a regional licensing office. Applicants must bring original or certified copies of specific documents to prove their identity, Social Security number, and Kentucky residency. Required documents typically include:

A birth certificate or valid U.S. passport.

A Social Security card or W-2 form.

Two documents proving your Kentucky residential address, such as a utility bill and a bank statement.

For those who travel internationally, a valid U.S. passport serves as an alternative to a REAL ID for domestic air travel.
