AKRON, Ohio (BNN) – – If you're human, 90-degree temperatures feel HOT!

The exact same applies for some of the animals at the Akron Zoo.

Just think of the snow leopards. However, in the care of zoo personnel, even those that prosper in cold, mountainous regions and have thick, smoky-gray fur are discovering ways to stay cool.

Today, Milja, the zoo's female snow leopard, was spotted chilling on a block of ice before the temperature levels got too hot. Zoo officials stated the snow leopards have access to go inside all day as they pick.



And, in the midst of a true "heat wave," every animal there is discovering a method to stay cool.

The alpacas enjoyed a spray down as one of the zoo keepers refilled their swimming pool with a hose pipe. Noel, one of the Alpacas, even appeared to give the zoo keeper a kiss to show her gratitude.



And for the Sumatran Tigers, coping with the heat might come naturally but even they take pleasure in a rejuvenating reward. Zoo keepers used the tigers an ice block made of ice, blood, and chunks of meat. Yum!
