GEORGETOWN, Ky. (BNN)-- First responders were on the scene of 2 severe mishaps Tuesday early morning on I-75 southbound in Georgetown.
The first crash occurred in between a semi and a gray mid-sive SUV around 2 a.m. at mile marker 121, according to the Scott County Sheriff's Office.
Four people in the SUV were required to the hospital with small injuries, the constable's workplace said, and the driver of the semi died.
Authorities said they believe a semi driving northbound lost two tires that crossed the typical into the southbound lane of I-75. One tire supposedly hit the front windscreen of the southbound semi, and the other tire hit the SUV, causing it to go off the street into a field.
The semi driver's name has not been released at this time.

A second accident occurred at mile marker 126 soon after the first wreck, Georgetown Police Department Captain Johnson told BNN. Officers were diverting traffic and a driver failed to yield, hitting a patrol car and a Scott County EMA trailer.
According to Johnson, the motorist was taken to the hospital in serious condition. A Georgetown officer was getting out of the cruiser when it was hit and had small injuries. Another person inside the trailer was likewise hurt.
Traffic was being diverted off I-75 south into Georgetown, and drivers were asked to use caution if they were in the area, per authorities.
Scott County 911 said the left lane was resumed around 7:30 a.m.
