Shane Lowry has taken the lead at the British Open at Royal Troon after an eventful day on the course. Despite a double bogey on the 11th hole, Lowry managed to finish strong with a pair of birdies, putting him two strokes ahead of Daniel Brown and Justin Rose.
However, the day was filled with challenges for many players. Justin Thomas struggled on the front nine, shooting a 45. Robert MacIntyre had a rough start with two triple bogeys in the first four holes. And disappointingly, both Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy missed the cut.
Despite the chaos, Scottie Scheffler and four other players remain within striking distance of the lead, setting the stage for an exciting weekend of golf at Royal Troon.
