Southwest Gas states consumers can anticipate lower costs on upcoming costs


LAS VEGAS (BNN) - - Southwest Gas just recently submitted its Nevada quarterly gas expense filing, proposing an approximate 15% reduction in the gas expense component of bills beginning April 1, according to a release from the business.

Southwest Gas stated this is the third decrease in a row in the Company's quarterly gas expense filings, and expects that trend to continue through 2024, anticipating an extra approximate 50% reduction in July.

This filing will be made with the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada in May, to become effective July 1.

The Company saw a 75% increase in gas costs over the past 2 years however, the expense
of gas has gone down and Southwest Gas anticipates consumers to continue to see the lower costs reflected in their bills.

Following the rate reduce in April, Southwest Gas estimates a monthly savings of $18.27 in Northern Nevada and $9.54 in Southern Nevada for the average domestic consumer.

There are numerous charges on customers' expenses consisting of gas cost, which is based upon your use, in addition to a delivery charge, which is the cost of providing service. Southwest Gas revenues off the 2nd part, which can be adjusted as many as 4 times a year

The main cause for fluctuations in consumer costs is connected to the expense of gas.
