Standoff with armed suspect in North Little Rock ends


North Little Rock Police DepartmentBARRICADED SUSPECT: North Little Rock cops stated a suspect barricaded himself today in the post workplace on W. Pershing Boulevard.
An armed, desired suspect barricaded himself in the post workplace at 300 W. Pershing Boulevard in North Little Rock after leaving from a bail bondsman in the early morning hours Friday.

North Little Rock cops cautioned pedestrians and traffic far from the location, and neighboring buildings consisting of North Little Rock High School went on lockdown.

Shortly after 10 a.m., though, unconfirmed reports came in from onlookers that the situation was solved and all lockdowns were raised.

At about 8:05 a.m., officers learned that the suspect remained in the location of 300 W. Pershing near the post workplace. A brief time later, the North Little Rock cops received a call from the post workplace that the subject was inside the structure.

One worker was inside the structure at the time and has been "safely drawn out and is uninjured," the North Little Rock Police Department stated in a press release..

The police surrounded the building with unique operations groups and arbitrators, consisting of state and federal officers..

North Little Rock High School, the Hays Center and the North Little Rock Community Center locked down briefly during the incident..
