Teen killed while walking on I-76


AKRON, Ohio – – A 19-year-old Ravenna man has passed away after he was struck while strolling on I-76 in the morning hours.

According to Akron cops, the crash occurred just before 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 27.

Officials state a silver Ford Escape was taking a trip eastbound on I- 76 East, between E. Market Street and Canton Road, when the 37-year-old motorist struck the pedestrian.

It's not clear why the teenager was walking on the highway, stated officials. The teenager, who has actually been determined as Zachary Holt, 19, later on passed away as an outcome of the impact.

The crash remains under investigation.
