A teenage driver was hospitalized after a shooting in Long Beach on Friday evening, according to authorities.

The incident occurred shortly after 6:00 PM near the intersection of 10th Street and Long Beach Boulevard. Preliminary reports from officials indicate the victim, a 17-year-old male, was operating a vehicle when another car pulled alongside and at least one occupant opened fire.

Scene Investigation Underway

Police and emergency responders flooded the area following reports of gunfire. The wounded teen managed to drive a short distance from the initial scene before stopping. Paramedics transported him to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators remained on-site for several hours, collecting evidence and canvassing for witnesses. The suspect vehicle, described only as a dark-colored sedan, fled the area and remains at large.
