Temecula faithful take part in Good Friday Crosswalk

Temecula walkways were filled with hundreds of believers - - some carrying wood crosses - - however all handling a 2.2-mile walk on Good Friday.

Due to the fact that of the coronavirus pandemic, the Crosswalk was canceled for two years but returned in 2022. This year, the 36th event on Friday, April 7, saw individuals stroll from the Temeku Cinemas car park to Sam Hicks Monument Park in Old Town Temecula.

The Student Venture Club ministry organized the Good Friday tradition, welcoming a number of southwest Riverside County Christian churches to take part.

Founder of the organization, Karen Sharp, said the walk started with 12 individuals and now draws over 500.

" We do this because it's Good Friday, the sun is coming and the resurrection is a really fundamental part of our beliefs," Sharp stated before the occasion. " It's just an actually remarkable method for people of the community representing all different churches to come together.".
