The CIF Southern Area revealed the winners of its annual scholastic team awards recently.
Ten teams representing six Inland schools were amongst the 54 groups recognized by the section workplace.
The team awards are based upon cumulative grade-point average and granted in 27 sports, with one winner selected for large schools (CBED enrollments of 1,500 and greater) and another winner chosen for little schools (CBED registrations below 1,500). Entries from 1,902 groups were received this academic year,
Temecula Valley and Webb each had 3 groups recognized, which was tied for second with New Roads, San Marcos and Santa Barbara. The only school with more groups honored was Flintridge Prep (5).
Temecula Valley won the large-school awards for young boys golf (3.914 cumulative GPA), boys lacrosse (3.720) and girls soccer (3.789 ).
Webb won the small-school awards for young boys golf (3.966 ), young boys water polo (3.852) and boys wrestling (3.521 ).
Citrus Hill won the large-school award for women track and field (3.859 ).
North won the large-school award for young boys battling (3.428 ).
San Dimas won the small-school award for ladies tennis (3.950 ).
Yucaipa won the large-school award for girls wrestling (3.657 ).
The winning teams get a banner to honor their accomplishment and will be honored in a ceremony before the Angels video game versus Oakland on April 24.
