WVTM 13's Day of Giving benefiting Children's of Alabama takes location on November 30, 2023. (WVTM 13).

Last year on December 1, WVTM 13 hosted its very first Day of Giving benefiting Children's of Alabama. When the station's meteorologist Jerry Tracey revealed his retirement after 35 years with the station, they knew they had to do something huge.

With Tracey's former role as co-host for the Children's Miracle Network telethons benefiting Children's of Alabama from 1989-2006, WVTM 13 decided to reprise his function and bring the telethon back.

Throughout the telethon, Children's of Alabama clients and personnel joined WVTM 13 to share motivating stories about their personal experiences. Did their efforts to raise awareness and funds for the medical facility work? Absolutely! Numerous pledges rolled in with total contributions reaching $55,300.

WVTM 13 will be hosting their yearly Day of Giving this year on Thursday, November 30, featuring unique guest interviews and more.
